When I was little I knew Billie-Jo, as ‘auntie Billie’. she ran the static salon on McLeod where my mom worked as a hair dresser alongside many other kind stylists… As a girl I used to fight my mother to do my hair and absolutely refuse to let her touch it. No one but auntie Billie was allowed to style my hair. I remember one evening my mother was fighting to style my hair before some big family gathering- I hid under the table until my mom called auntie Billie to come over and save the day. When she passed the first few times my mom styled my hair would bring tears to my eyes but I slowly got used to it and stopped fighting it. To this day my mom still does my hair (bless her for putting up with me) but there are still moments where I look back when getting my hair done and miss auntie Billie. Today was one of those days. Love and miss you auntie. -Felicity - Posted by: Felicity Taylor-Evans ((Friend)) on: Oct 18, 2025

BILLIE-JO I just wanted to say that you are the best! I remember when I was young, I was wrapping up some of my toys that I was "willing" to give away. My mom said I should not give away my old toys. She said that I should get you something new. My mom was probably right, but my heart was in the right place.
